Terms of Service

Welcome to Cloche ("the Service"), a gardening companion app operated by Cloche ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cloche, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Cloche provides a digital gardening platform including plant tracking, AI-powered gardening advice, weather integration, and related features. The Service is provided "as is" and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of it at any time.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@cloche.app if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Subscription and Payments

Cloche offers a free trial period followed by paid subscription plans. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Free trial: 7 days of full access; no credit card required at signup. At the end of the trial, your account automatically converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel beforehand.
Lite plan: $5.99/month — core garden tracking and AI advice features
Pro plan: $10.99/month — full feature access including advanced diagnostics and seasonal planning
Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Pricing may change with 30 days' notice to your registered email address
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us within 7 days of a charge at hello@cloche.app

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service's content or functionality
Upload malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., garden photos, notes). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display it solely to provide the Service. We do not sell your content to third parties.

7. AI-Powered Features and Gardening Advice

Cloche uses AI to provide gardening advice and plant identification. Gardening advice provided by Cloche is informational only and not guaranteed. Results may vary based on local conditions, user actions, and environmental factors. AI outputs are not a substitute for professional horticultural advice. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from following AI-generated recommendations.

Plant disease diagnoses and pest identifications are provided for informational purposes. For confirmed identification or treatment of serious plant health issues, consult your local cooperative extension office or a certified horticulturist.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and your data may be deleted after a reasonable retention period.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
